The Jews of Guadalajara: Names, Families, and Documentary Traces of a Sephardic Community

This documentary research explores the Jewish community of Guadalajara through historical records from the late Middle Ages.

Based on archival sources, it brings together names, families, occupations, property records, debts, legal proceedings, and other documentary traces that help reconstruct the lives of the Jewish inhabitants of Guadalajara before and around the expulsion of 1492.

The study reveals a community deeply connected to the social and economic life of medieval Guadalajara and preserves the names of individuals whose stories can still be traced through historical documents.

This publication is part of Huellas de Sefarad, a research project dedicated to recovering the names, families, and documentary traces of the Jewish communities of medieval Spain.
